About the role
As an Assessing Specialist Manager, you play a critical role in leading a national team to deliver a diverse range of activity that supports knowledge & application of assessing processes and practices
This is a hands-on, people-focused role that requires an individual to have strong communication & stakeholder engagement. You’ll provide day-to-day operational leadership, coordination, resources planning, and ensure your team are the go-to for all things Assessing.
You need to ensure that your team remain specialist in their field of Home Claims Assessing (this means across process, products, tools & technology that assessors rely on).
Your team are the people that are industry experts in assessing. They are called upon to complete activities such as:
- facilitate assessing specific training
- provide one to one and group coaching sessions
- create content that supports learning and knowledge of our Assessing Department
- support with daily referrals or questions on product (PDS & underwriting) or process application
- represent the assessing business in projects or initiatives to ensure this business areas needs are considered, and initiative activity aligns to our assessing practices & strategy
This means you need to be an individual that can:
- communicate clearly & confidently through sharing information & driving activity across all stakeholder groups
- drive continuous improvement & national consistency. Identify & implement process or experience improvements specific to Home Claims Assessing
- engage and collaborate with key stakeholders effectively, understanding clear business objectives and ensuring you take the right approach and assign the right resources to deliver
- review and prioritise activity to ensure effective and efficient output (measuring performance and impact)
- understand the diverse requirements and ensure your team have the right knowledge and experience to support. Provide coaching and development to a geographically dispersed national team
- be detail orientated. This team sets our National Assessing Team up for success. Often the ‘gate’ for input and output of activity you will pick up any content or communication that doesn’t align to our business area responsibilities
What you will bring:
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities. The team are spread over Australia and come from diverse backgrounds, so you need to be great at engaging others, driving a good team culture and managing remote teams effectively.
- Effective time management and resilience. There are often competing priorities so if you have a background or experience in initiative delivery or project management this will be highly regarded.
- Strong communication & stakeholder engagement. With the number of activities & stakeholders this area supports, you must have amazing communication skills. You need to be able to understand business requirements & communicate what your team are working on, when & the impact it had.
