Technical Officer

We’re looking for someone who’s all about great service, solving problems, and helping teams thrive to join our Claims Operations team in Brisbane as a Technical Officer.

This role is a 12-month secondment opportunity. 

What you’ll do

• Support daily operations by allocating workloads, resolving escalated queries, and maintaining up-to-date procedures for both onshore and offshore teams.
• Coach and develop team members, supporting training initiatives and sharing knowledge to build capability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, reviewing processes, and helping implement changes across teams.
• Collaborate with the Business Improvement and Quality teams to maintain and enhance frameworks, support audits, and ensure compliance.
• Work closely with leaders on delegated tasks, complex operational activities, and business change initiatives, including UAT.
• Foster a positive, safe, and high-performing team culture aligned with Suncorp’s values, and actively support team and business goals.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience in business operations with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Confident communicator with solid written and verbal skills, and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a working knowledge of Lean principles and sensitivity to cultural differences when collaborating with offshore teams.
• Demonstrated ability to coach others, adapt to change, and take ownership of personal development and continuous improvement.
