Make a real impact by helping our commercial customers navigate the unexpected.
At Suncorp, we’re proud to support Australian businesses when things go wrong. We’re looking for a proactive, customer-focused Claims Officer to join our Commercial Property Liability team.
In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of third-party property damage claims – where a customer’s business may have unintentionally caused damage to someone else’s property. You’ll be the key point of contact for brokers, insured businesses, and claimants, delivering clear, fair, and timely outcomes from lodgement through to finalisation.
What you’ll do
- Manage a portfolio of property liability claims end-to-end, from lodgement to settlement
- Assess coverage under relevant policies and determine liability
- Communicate effectively with brokers, insured customers, and third-party claimants
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Assessors, Legal, and Recoveries teams
- Identify and support vulnerable customers where needed
- Monitor claim progress, escalate delays, and contribute to continuous improvement
- Maintain a high standard of customer service while meeting compliance and quality standards
What you’ll bring
- Experience managing insurance claims, ideally in commercial or liability lines
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written – with a focus on clarity and professionalism
- Sound judgement and the ability to interpret policies and apply critical thinking
- The confidence to work independently, while also contributing to a supportive team
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational skills
- Empathy, resilience, and a genuine desire to help customers through challenging situations
- Familiarity with claims systems like Claims Centre is a bonus
