As a Player Coach, you are much more than a team leader, you’ll be an influential mentor, hands-on technologist, and cultural champion. You’ll guide a high-performing chapter, help shape Suncorp’s engineering capabilities, and make a direct impact by delivering best-in-class solutions for our squads.

What you’ll do
- Provide coaching, mentoring and support to chapter members to grow deep and T-shaped capabilities
- Set clear expectations and foster a culture of continuous delivery, quality, and professional pride
- Play a dual role, leading capability uplift while contributing to squad delivery
- Help shape and embed modern engineering standards, tools and guardrails
- Promote innovative thinking and new ways of working across the business
- Represent Suncorp’s D&E Practice externally through events, communities and conferences
- Collaborate with Platform, Tribe and Chapter Leads, Risk, Cyber Security and Delivery Partners
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years of experience in your technical domain and a passion for capability uplift
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven ability to guide teams through change
- Solid understanding and application of Agile and Scaled Agile principles
- Experience planning resources across distributed (onshore/offshore) environments
- The ability to inspire, challenge, and drive high performance across diverse teams
- A mindset grounded in growth, curiosity, innovation, and genuine care for people
- A collaborative approach to influencing decision-making, backed by data and insight
