Technical Officer

We are looking for a Technical Officer to join our Operations Support team in either Sydney or Brisbane on a 12-month secondment basis.

This role supports the Team Leader in the daily management and execution of the teams’ functions to provide cross-functional support across the broader Operations teams.

What you’ll do

• Support the Leader in planning and scheduling resource allocation to meet the needs of the Operations teams.
• Support training and development for team members.
• Act as an escalation point for technical queries and issues within the team, within delegation.
• Resolve escalated enquiries from business partners & investigate and resolve complaints in a timely manner.
• Participate in team tasks and complex operations as directed by the Leader.
• Promote a collaborative team environment and maintain a strong customer focus.
• Provide supervisory support to team as required or directed by Team Leader.
• Develop and drive value-based behaviours that support high performance and accountability.

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrated experience and high performance in a business operations role across multiple functions
• Demonstrated experience in utilising web-based administration systems
• Strong knowledge of the finance and insurance industry, with a focus on operations and reporting systems.
• Proficient in continuous improvement methodologies and project management concepts.
• Excellent relationship management and customer service skills, with strong influencing abilities.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, able to meet quality and time standards.
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Capable of coaching team members and collaborating on complex projects with internal and external stakeholders.
