About the opportunity
This role reports into the Operations & Scheduling Service Owner, in the Group Support Practice within the Technology and Transformation Division. Supporting the bank’s automation products (Control-M, Control-O, Axway, Connect:Direct, etc), and occasionally deliver and support high quality operational solutions and troubleshooting that create value for the organisation and our customers. These solutions will be delivered via BMC’s Control-M in both the mainframe and midrange environments.
Key to delivering these outcomes will involve analysis, solution design, testing, and implementation of fixes and changes. You may also take on other functional roles within the team (e.g. Iteration Management, coordination of knowledge groups).
Participating in and improving the organisations effectiveness in your technology space is key to the role.

What you’ll bring to the role
You will have automated operations experience (batch management via Control-M is essential, file transfers, reporting, etc)
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Operating Systems Experience; Windows, Linux, z/OS
- Good programming/scripting skills or aptitude (e.g. Perl, Windows Scripting, etc)
- Strong analysis, design and problem-solving skills.
- Good project planning skills and good interpersonal and consultative skills.
- A strong customer service ethic.
- Exposure to Enterprise Systems Management tools (e.g. IBM Tivoli).
- An appreciation of Service Management Best practice as defined within ITIL.
