The Lending Performance and Enablement Team has been created to focus on elevating performance, empowering our people and ensuring quality applications where we are committed to delivering exceptional lending experiences for our Customers.

The Lending Performance Lead you will partner with Business leaders and is tasked with enhancing lending performance by providing education and coaching on lending skills within the Retail Banking Network, in alignment with the overall strategies and priorities of the Bank and Consumer Division.

In this role you will aim to improve capability and elevate performance across the network, emphasizing our Responsible Lending Obligations, customer-focused discussions, and lending efficiency. This role will be crucial in building relationships and collaborating with the assessment support functions.

In this dynamic and high-impact role, you’ll make your mark by:   

  • Building a strong lending sales culture by using the Customer Centred Conversations framework that fits into the daily routines of Lending staff, aligned to the Retail Operating Rhythm.
  • Provide training and resources needed for conducting effective lending discussions with our customers.
  • Use the process map for lending origination and servicing to find ways to improve efficiency and sales results and create better experiences for Lenders and Customers.
  • Increase productivity, improve how frontline staff interact with customers. Use and support productivity models and reports. 
  • Help integrate new technologies like lending application tools and measure their performance related to customer engagement and sales activities.
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers and Lending Assessment Team Managers to identify gaps in training, as well as developing new training materials or updating current ones.


These are Permanent positions working Full time for total 76 hours per fortnight where they will be supporting specific States/Divisions as follows: WA/SA/NT, VIC Metro, VIC Regional & TAS, QLD, NSW/ACT/Mobile Distribution and Virtual Banking (TPB & Retail).

With a focus on the team’s ability to be present, it will be preferable for the applicants to be within the State they support. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 40% of your time per week in the office, increasing to 60% as of July 2025.  


What you’ll bring to the role
  

To succeed in this role, you’ll drive the lending growth by building strong relationships, acquiring new business and becoming the go-to lending expert in the area. We’d love you to have:    

  • Demonstrated experience in Retail Lending and/or credit assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience in pipeline management and activity building.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, coaching and communication skills.
  • Experience with analysing and interpreting data to unearth actionable insights.
  • Prior experience in successful coaching skill development at a leadership level.
  • Change management expertise in the Retail business.
  • FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation
  • Designated Lending Authority (DLA) - Consumer/Residential - preferred
