About the team
The Risk and Compliance (R&C) 1LOD function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in line with the Group’s risk appetite.
Credit Strategy & Insights, Consumer & Digital supports this by applying risk management practices to achieve the team’s objective positioning the Home Loan and Consumer portfolio’s for sustainable profitable growth and ensuring appropriate controls and strategies are in place to optimise risk and reward.
About the role
As Consumer Credit Risk Manager and reporting to the Senior Manager Credit Strategy & Insight you are a pivotal part of a team that provides first line credit support to the Consumer and Digital divisions. In particular you will have a direct impact on driving the Home Loan Lending growth strategy whilst ensuring the portfolio is managed within the banks risk appetite.
You’ll get to:
- Influence growth strategy by leveraging your strong credit risk skill set and understanding of home loan policy, to provide insightful analytics and reporting on portfolio, segment and business performance
- Build strong collaborative relationships with a range of key stakeholders, to advise and influence growth, change and continuous improvement strategies
- Support the delivery and implementation of the consumer lending strategy including building the tools to facilitate the strategy
- Be an integral part of the R&C 1LOD Risk team and promote a strong risk culture
This is a permanent full-time opportunity to be located at one of our corporate offices in either Sydney or Melbourne. We offer a flexible work hybrid model with a minimum requirement 2 days per week in the office, increasing to 3 days as of July 2025.
About you
To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Mathematics, Business or a relevant discipline
- Postgraduate business-related qualifications desirable
- Extensive banking experience with specific experience in credit risk management and consumer portfolio management
- Demonstrated experience in data analytics and business intelligence and providing insights and recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed relationship management skills with the ability to advise and influence key stakeholders in a collaborative manner
- Strategic mind set with the passion to challenge business problems
