About the opportunity
Join us to guide AI at the bank to enable the business as we move into this exciting chapter at the Bank! Based in our AI Centre of Excellence you will set frameworks and standards whilst driving adoption and best practise capability uplift across the bank in relation to our use of AI. In this role you will be responsible for shaping our responsible and ethical approach to artificial intelligence as well as developing and implementing a comprehensive AI governance framework to ensures our AI systems are aligned with our values, legal obligations, risk appetite and industry best practices

In this role you’ll get to…
- Define clear policies, procedures, and guidelines for the development, deployment, and use of AI systems throughout the bank.
- Establish robust processes for risk assessment, mitigation, and monitoring related to AI systems.
- Develop mechanisms for ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI decision-making.
- Regularly review and update the AI governance framework based on feedback, evolving technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Integrate ethical considerations into all stages of the AI lifecycle, from data collection to model deployment.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of AI systems to identify potential biases and unintended consequences.
- Advocate for responsible use of AI within the organisation and externally with stakeholders.
What you’ll bring to the role
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Experience working with AI technologies preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a governance or compliance role.
- Developed knowledge and understanding of ethical considerations related to AI, including bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language for diverse audiences.
