About the team
The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.
About the role
As Operational Risk Officer and reporting to Senior Manager, Events Management you are a member of a team that support the business to manage operation risk effectively and ensure tasks are in line with the Bank’s Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).
You’ll get to:
- Ensure all activities related to operational risk events are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner and if escalate and issues as required
- Assess, classify event data for completeness and accuracy within CURA in relation to events that impact the relevant division
- Proactively monitor and track events from end to end to ensure that appropriate actions are taken
- Work closely with divisional risk teams including Operational Risk Managers, CoE, R&C line 2 and various stakeholders across the business to support and champion a strong risk culture
This a full-time 8- month secondment and for the right candidate open to location as long as you can full-fill the 3 days in the office requirement.
About you

To be successful you will have
- Understanding and interest Operational Risk Frameworks highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Strong organisational and planning skills with high attention to detail and ability to prioritise workflows
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Banking or related discipline desirable but not essential
