Our Group Payroll team sit within our large People & Culture function and are the Bank’s operational heartbeat delivering our employees payment of their salary/wages accurately and on time every fortnight.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a 9-month secondment for a Payroll Officer to join the team, reporting into the Payroll Processing Lead. You’ll be responsible for accurate maintenance of employee records, correctly calculating withholdings, superannuation, and entitlements, complying with employment laws, and relevant Enterprise Agreements and Awards, always adhering to payroll schedules and deadlines.
We’re ideally seeking someone with previous experience working with large scale complex payrolls, including being familiar with different agreements and awards. You’ll be able to combine this with your outstanding attention to detail, autonomous ways of working, proficiency to prioritise, confidence to ask questions if unsure, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and passion for delivering outstanding customer service!

This role can be based in either one of our VIC office locations in Melbourne or Bendigo. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% of your time per week in the office.
What you'll bring to the role
- Previous experience in a payroll position, ideally from within a large scale complex environment
- Experience with CIA/Ci and TechOne software or SAP highly regarded but not essential
- Intermediate competency across the Microsoft office suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to set work priorities to meet deadlines
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively building positive working relationships with team members and key client stakeholders
