About the opportunity

You will lead the engineering delivery function with a portfolio of technology products that directly impact customer experience and revenue generation. Accountable for the end-to-end engineering strategy execution and capability uplift across all segments and customer-facing technology platforms.

Leading a large team of technical experts, this is a senior people leadership role that clearly articulates strategy to enable deep connection of people to our goals, has unwavering focus on people capability and development and drives a strong performance culture. The role will enable agile engineering practices and ensure value to customer is prioritised. 

In this role you’ll get to…

• Collaborate with the Technology Leadership team to influence and devise appropriate technology strategy.
• Establish and lead an engaged, high performing customer platforms engineering delivery function that is committed to the Bank’s sustainable success.
• Drive a change in culture to align with modern engineering practices.
• Lead this first line function to continually mature methods that ensure protection of the IT organisational assets, integrity, security and privacy of information.
• Provide thought leadership and guidance on best practice approaches to the Bank’s digital transformation agenda that enables valuable business and customer outcomes. 

What you’ll bring to the role

You will have a robust technical background in software development, cloud narrative architecture, modern digital stacks, SecDevOps and SRE practices. 

To be successful in the role you will have: 

• Senior leadership background, with proven track record of leading and developing large cross functional and agile teams of technology engineering resources.
• Significant exposure to complex product and platform-based environments, with experience managing engineering across multiple domains with competing priorities and critical SLAs.
• Extensive experience in leading transformational change and being a thought leader in the technology space.
• Demonstrated development of strategy and leading teams in the tactical execution against strategic frameworks.
• Experience in effectively managing budgets.
• Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders, including members of the Executive and Board.
