About the opportunity
The Data Engineer will report into the Digital Data Hub Service Owner, within the Data and AI Engineering Portfolio.
You will develop, construct, test and maintain the Bank’s Enterprise Streaming and Data Assets to meet organisation’s data requirements. It includes but not limited to importing, transforming, curating, and loading structured and unstructured data from internal or external, on-premises or cloud-based source systems to stream cloud-based data assets.
You will drive the Bank’s Data Strategy to build cloud-based data assets like Marketing, Customer and Partner communications, analytics modelling, advanced analytics data sources.
In this role you’ll get to…
- Develop and maintain the cloud data platforms required to service Data Streaming solutions.
- Develop and maintain optimal data pipelines for a wide variety of data sources, structured or unstructured.
- Work with Practice Architects to understand C&DE Data Cloud Architecture Strategy
- Focus on customers’ needs to drive behaviours and outcomes.
- Work through a task, initiative, or project to ensure completion to achieve successful outcomes.
What you’ll bring to the role
You will have cloud-based Data Platforms experience and experience around handling structured and unstructured data.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Experience with deployment of data workloads using CI/CD tooling (ideally Gitlab, Terraform and Ansible).
- Experience with streaming data pipelines as well as batch-oriented data processing – Spark, Flink & Confluent Cloud.
- Experience with relational databases & data lakes – Postgres, SQL Server & BigQuery.
- Exposure to Change Data Capture – Qlik Replicate.
- Experience with Data Streaming, Data Warehouses/Lakes, Information Governance Suites (Lineage, Glossary, Reference Data etc).
- Exposure to API development.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal), presentation, facilitation relationship management and teaming skills, including the ability to develop productive working relationships.
