Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Senior Journeyperson Warehouse & Parts Technician with a competitive hourly rate of $57.94 dependent on experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity with an additional short-term incentive of 10%.

This position provides on-site Supply Chain support for all departments to ensure the timely delivery of parts and materials that are required to support production at the Brucejack mine.

Perform the following duties with safety being the number one priority:

  • Assists in leading the coordination of shipping / receiving of goods to and from the mine site.
  • Maintains a high-level participation in shutdown maintenance ensuring the flow of goods and / or materials, as required.
  • Ensure all materials and resources are shipped & received safely, accurately and accounted for through proper delivery and storage practices, policies and procedures.
  • Assists in leading the movement of material and equipment from off-site locations to meet project requirements.
  • Monitoring of bulk commodity levels – Fuel & Propane.
  • Monitor inventory at various locations within the Brucejack warehouse and laydown areas.
  • Arrange the movement of material (Inventory and Non-Stock) between various locations in and around site.
  • Maintain good relationships with vendors, end users and business partners.
  • Assist in leading to keep accurate records – inventory control, cycle counts, inventory transactions, auditing & reporting.
  • Provide prompt and efficient service and direct any enquiries to the appropriate department / person.
  • Complete any site-based reports required from Safety or Environment in conjunction with the Superintendent, Warehouse Operations or designate.
  • Produce weekly/monthly reports for inventory, freight management, bulk products etc.
  • Responsible for assisting in scheduling / leading warehouse personnel’s daily duties, facilitating team pre-start meetings, and ensuring hours of work by the team are met.
  • Report any employee relation concerns to the Supervisor, Warehouse Operations in a detailed, timely manner.
  • Responsible for safely leading the team to ensure operational excellence in all warehouse areas, efficient operations of the warehouse inventory management system and related equipment; ensure inventory is received and issued appropriately, efficiently and safely in the warehouse in accordance with all established business policies, procedures and process compliance SOPs.
  • Communicate, participate and enforce the company’s Health & Safety Management Program.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others while aligning with the company’s values.
  • Monitor and mentor issuance & credits of inventory items from over-the-counter by ensuring material items are properly processed when entering in SAP.
  • Act in a leadership designate capacity, when requested.
  • Participates in special projects, as required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities to support the overall success of the Brucejack Mine.

About You:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:  

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 and a Red Seal - Parts certification is required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant front-line experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and customer relations is required. With 1 year of applied leadership experience being an asset.
  • 1-2 years of working in a mine or heavy industry is required. Specifically, 6 months of experience being at the Brucejack mine site.
  • Incident Investigation Safety training is an asset.
  • Six Sigma – Yellow Belt is required.
  • Applicable on-site Safety training, including First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Process Management or Continuous Improvement Manager (CIM) certification is an asset.
  • Formal leadership training is considered an asset.
  • BC Mines Supervisor certification is required.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications of material and equipment.
  • Proficient in MS Office and filing systems.
  • Excellent communication and radio skills, able to read, write and speak English.
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking abilities.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating work in a changing environment.
  • Skilled in using personal computer and various software packages, specifically SAP.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
  • Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, variances and problem solve.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on workload, resource availability and business priorities that may include overtime when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Courteous, diplomatic, and able to work within tight response deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency with computers, particularly database management.
  • Leadership, Morale, Relationships and Communications.

Additional Information

  • Work at remote location (camp) on a 14 days on/14 days off rotation.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening and a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
  • Be able maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts day or night.
  • Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters with the team.
