The Role

Perform quality control assays relating to the production of Jack Jumper ant venom products according to the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice for Active Pharmaceutical ingredients.

Participate in continuing development and research related to the Jack Jumper Allergy Program and contribute to quality improvement activities.

  • Participate in research activities associated with allergy to the sting of the Jack Jumper ant.
  • Perform quality control assays for Jack Jumper Venom products including: Protein Content, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, HPLC-UV and Immunoblot assays.  Assays performed are in support of the quality control process for Jack Jumper ant venom extracts.
  • Record, interpret and report on laboratory results, ensuring all result and process verification procedures are complied with.
  • Maintain meticulous records of work and transactions performed according to documented policies, with the ability to extract and analyse information from databases, SOP and log books.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible and for a period of 6 months.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: 

Salary $71,441 - $83,179 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study at a recognised tertiary institution

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
