The Role

The Deputy Chief Radiographer works with the Chief Radiographer and Director Radiology to provide day-to-day management of the Tasmanian Diagnostic Breast Imaging Service (TDBIS) and BreastScreen Tasmania (BST) Service.

The role of the Deputy Chief Radiographer is to:

  • Assist the Chief Radiographer in operational management and coordination of TDBIS and BST services and ensure that patients receive appropriate and effective quality services in a timely and integrated manner.
  • Facilitate rostering of operational staff across multiple sites. 
  • In consultation with clinical staff identify, plan and implement quality improvement activities and monitor quality assurance activities of the TDBIS.
  • Provide specialist radiography services to the TDBIS and BreastScreen Tasmania.
  • Maintain a lead support role for the RIS/PACS.
  • Ensure the provision of safe and compassionate patient centred care founded on excellence in practice, respect, and inclusive leadership.

Details of Appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 31 December 2025.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant. Part time hours may be considered. 

Classification: Allied Health Professional, Level 4

Salary: $123,717 - $138,296 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $122,908 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications relevant to medical imaging. Experience in PACS administration.

Applicants should note, the position features:

  • May be required to participate in an out-of-hours availability or on-call roster.

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
