The Role

Within a Primary Health Care Framework, Agency policies, legal requirements, and professional competencies the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Spinal Cord Injury (South):

  • Provides advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the provision of clinical advice, assessment and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of adult people with spinal cord injury. Along with the development and implementation of associated standards of practice, models of care, relevant service policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Initiates and maintains a comprehensive care network with providers in primary health and acute care settings, including community service providers, General Practitioners, Specialists, and other health care providers to support the care needs of adult people with SCI (traumatic and non-traumatic).
  • Provides advanced clinical expertise and leadership within the specialty of Spinal Cord Injury to meet statutory, policy and regulatory requirements related to safety and quality including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards

The Site and Team:

  • Exciting opportunity to undertake a specialist clinical and leadership role
  • Work as part of a dynamic Interdisciplinary team of health professionals and a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Based at the Community Rehabilitation Unit - Repatriation Centre, Hobart

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 70 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to eleven (11) months.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: Registered Nurse, Grade 6

Salary $114,851 - $121,886 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  2. Current C Class Driver Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Relevant postgraduate qualifications or working towards the same.

  2. Experience and knowledge working with spinal cord injury and complex disability populations.

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
