The Role: An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a dynamic clinical leader to join the West Coast District Hospital as a Clinical Nurse Consultant for 6 months. In this pivotal role, you will provide clinical leadership and support in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager and Director of Nursing, focusing on coordinating top-notch nursing and support services for inpatients and emergency presentations. You will also spearhead the development, implementation, and evaluation of care improvement initiatives to ensure outstanding service delivery.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for enhancing patient care in a rural health setting. Your role will involve fostering a culture of critical thinking, research, and continuous improvement. You will support the NUM in quality, and service delivery planning and drive innovative initiatives in quality safety programs and clinical practice standards.
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in building strong working relationships with staff and the community. Your ability to inspire, influence, and deliver clear messages will help ensure cohesive teamwork and high standards of care. Ideally, you will hold relevant postgraduate qualifications and have experience in Emergency Nursing.

West Coast District Hospital serves Queenstown and the surrounding communities, offering a diverse range of health services including Emergency First Response, inpatient ward, and a Residential Aged Care Facility, supported by visiting services such as Radiology, Diabetic Clinics, Physiotherapy, and Podiatry. Details of Appointment
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date for a period of six months.

Classification:
Salary $114,851 - $121,886 per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
- Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People

- Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications
