The Role:

The senior physiotherapist will be part of the Royal Hobart Hospital Medical Services Team and will have the opportunity to develop skills in the area of oncology physiotherapy. Working as part of the oncology physiotherapy team, you will provide high level evidence-based physiotherapy to oncology patients within the THS-S in inpatient, outpatient, and community exercise group settings. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.

Position description and main tasks covered by this role:

  • Coordination and delivery of physiotherapy services to the Inpatient Oncology ward at the RHH and to outpatients at the RHH and other Community Health Centres.
  • Coordination and delivery of the Physiotherapy Oncology Exercise Group at South Region Community Health Centres.
  • Assessment, planning and implementation of specific treatment programs for individuals according to current evidence and best practice guidelines.
  • Working independently at the unit level and collaboratively with the patient, their carer/s, and the multidisciplinary teams to deliver direct patient care.
  • Supervision of L1/2 physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistant providing physiotherapy services to Oncology patients, including relevant teaching.
  • Support ongoing service development, quality improvement, supervision, educational programs and learning culture within Medical Services Team.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing July 2025 until 4 January 2026.

Classification: Allied Health Professional, Level 3. 

Salary $110,425 - $121,907 per annum pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,920 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme. 

Salary Range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

  • Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • Postgraduate qualifications or working towards this in the identified clinical area

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
