The Team:
Public Health Services in the Tasmanian Department of Health works with government and communities to protect and promote good health and prevent disease and injury.
The Healthy Tasmania team coordinates the implementation and evaluation of the Healthy Tasmania Five-Year Strategic Plan 2022-2026. This is the Government's plan for preventive health in the State.

The Role:
This role will work within a team to promote a population health approach to improving health and wellbeing and reducing inequities in health. As a member of the Healthy Tasmania team this role will support the monitoring and evaluation of small grants and work with community organisations to collect stories about how the grants have been used to support health and wellbeing. The role will also support the planning and implementation of the Healthy Tasmania Community Forum.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 September 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Classification: General Stream, Band 4.
Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Demonstrated expertise in the application of health promotion principles and population health approaches to the prevention of modifiable risk factors and chronic conditions.
- Understanding of the political, social and organisational issues that may impact on the prevention of modifiable risk factors and chronic conditions at a settings-based and community level.
- An understanding of and/or experience in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on population health and/or health promotion programs or project
