The Role
- Prepare a large volume of electronic and paper laboratory results and case management files for data entry in a timely way to ensure reporting requirements are met each day.
- Enter complex, multi-level laboratory data into the Communicable Diseases Prevention Unit (CDPU) database and apply independent interpretation and judgement on data classifications.
- Conduct extensive data quality checks to ensure accuracy of data and maintain quality control of data.
- Exercise initiative and judgement to resolve discrepancies in information, obtain further information for incomplete documents, and recognise when supervisor input is required.
The Team:
This is a unique opportunity to join the health informatics team within the Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Unit. This role will support the collection, processing, cleaning and storage of surveillance data and dissemination of information using cloud-based databases and communication systems.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 66 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 31 December 2025.
Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Classification: General Stream Band 3
Salary $73,811 - $79,779 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Experience in managing public health data highly desirable
- Experience in complex, multi-level data entry of laboratory records into a health database highly desirable
Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
