The Role:
This position is based within our Outpatient Services, working across both North West Regional and Mersey Community Hospital.
- Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
- Assists the MUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day-to-day client facing activities, including appointment re/scheduling and management of staff leave.
- Ensure the maintenance of effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to promote client care delivery.
- Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures to promote a client focused model of care according to best practice principles.
- Act as a role model and clinical resource person to provide clinical advice and recommendations, support service development processes and promote positive change.
Our ideal applicant will be able to work the full 40 hours per fortnight, following a set roster of Week 1 & 3: Monday and Tuesday, and Week 2 & 4: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 26 July 2026.
Classification:
Salary $106,570 - $112,440 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife

- Holds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualifications
