The Role

Work as part of the maternity healthcare team in collaboration and consultation with a midwife to undertake delegated aspects of care for mother and newborn infant.  This would include:

  • Care of the newborn including bathing, settling & sleeping
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Care of the post-partum woman

Details of Appointment

Multiple, fixed term full time and part time, fully rotational shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 29 September 2025 for 12 months.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant, positions will not be offered less than 48 hours per fortnight

Classification: 

Salary $70,980 - $78,179 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
  • Working with Children Registration

Requirements of the role and onboarding:

  • Commence on 29 September 2025
  • Work a minimum of 48 hours for the duration of appointment
  • Have or obtain WWCR prior to 29 September
  • Able to work fully rotational shift work
