The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Clinical & Professional Practice, the Manager Clinical Practice - Critical Care and Retrieval (CCR) will ensure that the highest standard of patient care is delivered via effective clinical leadership, practice, education and research.

As part of the Clinical Services team, the Manager Clinical Practice - CCR will lead the development and implementation of new programs/guidelines/policies in clinical and professional practice, relating to CCR practice areas within the service, including but not limited to Intensive Care Flight Paramedic, Retrieval Consultant and interfacility transfer practice areas.

This role will provide expert clinical input into educational programs and will work with the Education team to develop education and training initiatives.

The Manager Clinical Practice - CCR will explore, undertake and support research opportunities, guideline development, clinical audit, quality and safety initiatives and innovation for the organisation and will maintain their professional and clinical competence with regular clinical shifts.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 31 May 2026. 

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Classification: 

Salary $$150,796 per annum + 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service, relevant work experience and an additional qualification in management or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia
  • Intensive Care Flight Paramedic Qualification or equivalent
  • Current Driver’s Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Currently accredited as an operational intensive care flight paramedic
  • Experience in the development of clinical and professional practice
  • Post graduate qualification in relevant critical care specialty
