Director of Nursing – West Coast

 

Location: West Coast, Tasmania (Queenstown, Rosebery & surrounding communities) Based at West Coast District Hospital, Queenstown.

The Role

The Director of Nursing (DON) - West Coast is responsible for the operational leadership and management of residential aged care, emergency first response, sub-acute inpatient and community based services provided from the West Coast District Hospital and Rosebery Community Health Centre. This includes:

  • Undertaking a leadership role in ensuring all on-site clinical and support services, and infrastructure meet quality and safety standards (both Aged Care Quality Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards) and are in accordance with Agency performance objectives and community expectations, and
  • Facilitating the development and maintenance of strong communication links within the Agency and other government and non-government agencies, community health service providers and other key groups and consumers regarding health service priorities, and
  • Providing the Nursing Director - Primary Health North West with high level quality and authoritative advice and support.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 12 January 2025 until 9 February 2026.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: 

Salary $149,807 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • 10% remote allowance on top of base salary.
  • accommodation assistance will be supported. 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  2. Current Driver’s Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Relevant post graduate qualifications.

Under particular circumstances employees maybe required to undertake a new conviction check.
