The Role

  • Effectively manage the patient flow of Midwifery Group Practice in collaboration with the Inter-professional Team.
  • Ensures the maintenance of effective communication channels between internal and external customers including assessment, admission and discharge for Ward/Unit patients.
  • Provide a high level of knowledge and skill in Ward/Unit nursing and act as a clinical resource person to provide expert clinical advice, recommendations in the selection and utilisation of resources/research within the Ward/Unit.
  • Assist and support the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Educator in developing a strong professional environment with contemporary leadership and management skills.
  • Identify and implement Safety and Quality processes in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Educator.
  • Interpret and implement clinical and/or educational policies, processes and guidelines to ensure the provision of effective and efficient patient care.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
  • The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 6 June 2026.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Classification: 

Salary $109,767 - $115,813 pro rata per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging - paid under the Tasmanian Industrial Midwifery Caseload Agreement

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  2. Current Working with Children Registration

  1. Relevant postgraduate qualification

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
