The Team

  • The Bluegum Architecture team delivers architecture-as-a-service to Bluegum Health Transformation and Health ICT (Information and Communication Technology) areas. It manages the governance of architectural approval and delivers architecture strategies, blueprints and artefacts.

The Role

  • The ICT Architect ensures all solutions comply with the Department’s technical principles and align with established and emerging architectural frameworks and standards. This specialist role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions that improve the efficiency, security, and effectiveness of healthcare systems. It requires providing expert guidance and technical leadership while collaborating with stakeholders to achieve successful technology deployments. The position also sets the vision for target architectures and creates pragmatic roadmaps to support the delivery of projects and programs.

You will need:

  • Experience in Application Architecture with a deep understanding of Department of Health systems and ability to design robust, scalable solutions.
  • Proven experience collaborating with clinical and business users to understand their problem domain and translate needs into practical solutions.
  • Proven experience creating Solution Designs and representing these at Architecture Review Board.
  • Skilled at converting complex technical blueprints into clear, business-friendly language to secure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks and opportunities in clinical application environments and deliver detailed architectural strategies to address them.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of working independently and delivering outcomes without close supervision.
  • Strong alignment with the Department’s CARE values and ability to balance technical design with business priorities.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for a period of twelve months.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: General Stream, Band 8

Salary $139,470 - $148,863 per annum + 12% superannuation

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  •  Appropriate tertiary qualifications in ICT or related discipline
  • Appropriate technical certification in relevant specialist discipline
  • Current Driver’s Licence

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
