The Role

The Trainee Sonographer will:

  • Be trained in ultrasound in order to provide an effective and efficient ultrasound service for the inpatients and outpatients of the Medical Imaging Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).
  • Perform ultrasound examinations under the supervision of the Senior Specialist Sonographer and the Tutor Sonographer, in accordance with organisational policies and professional codes of conduct.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time, day worker (with on call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 26 January 2027.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: 

Salary $73,834 - $111,364 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Eligible for enrolment for training in diagnostic ultrasound with an accredited university and either hold or be eligible to attain current status of “Accredited Student Sonographer” (ASS) with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Completion of a tertiary qualification relevant to the specialist discipline of Ultrasound

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
