The Role

  • Leads and manages the coordination of patient care within the Medical Ward in accordance with best practice principles and within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework.  
  • Provides leadership in contemporary nursing practice and promotes an environment conducive to innovation and change.
  • Manages the financial, physical and human resources of the Medical Ward to achieve agreed service outcomes within the allocated budget.
  • Monitors, manages and reports on the Medical Ward’s performance and activity levels.
  • Monitors and manages human resources, staff performance and development.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
  • The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for 12 months.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: 

Salary $134,109 - $140,348 per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  1. Relevant post graduate qualification

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
