The Staffing & Support team is seeking applications from experienced nurse leaders for a Nurse Unit Manager position within the Integrated Operations Centre.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership role within a dynamic, hospital-wide service that plays a key part in ensuring safe and effective staffing across THS Hospitals South.
There are two NUM roles that jointly lead the Staffing and Support Unit, sharing responsibility for a small team of ANUMs and Coaches. The advertised role also leads the Casual Nursing/Midwifery Pool, the Roster Support Unit (RSU), and the Casual Hospital Aides, and works alongside the IOC NUM leading the Permanent Pool and Patient Safety Assistants. This is an opportunity to gain experience leading diverse health workforces in a supportive team environment.
About You

The Role
- Provides leadership to Nurse Staffing and Support within the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) Royal Hobart Hospital, and leads the Casual Nursing/Midwifery Pool, the Roster Support Unit (RSU), and the Casual Hospital Aides.
- Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing research functions within the IOC for Nurse Staffing and Support.
- Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material and financial resources for service delivery within the IOC for Nurse Staffing and Support

Details of Appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for a period of up to six (6) months.

Classification: Registered Nurse, Grade 7b
Salary $134,109 - $140,384 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
