The Role:

Function as an advanced clinical practitioner providing direct care, advisory support, and educational services within the Operating Room Suite (ORS) of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH).

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Flow Manager will:

  • Undertake a patient flow management role within the ORS, ensuring effective provision of care based on competency standards for the Advanced Registered Nurse. Service is managed within a multidisciplinary framework by coordinating clinical, management, education and nursing research related to the context of practice.
  • Provide expert contemporary clinical advice and clinical leadership in nursing.
  • Undertake a leadership role in ensuring that the clinical and support services meet quality and safety standards and are in accordance with Agency performance objectives and community expectations.
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of strong communication links within the hospital, and with consumers and other key groups to improve care for patients in the perioperative service.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 26 hours per fortnight, commencing on the 14 August 2026 until 13 August 2027.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Classification: 

Salary $118,297 - $125,543 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds or is working towards relevant postgraduate qualifications.

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
