This position is for a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (522497d). The position is also being advertised as an Allied Health Professional (522497L6). The position will be filled on a merit basis.

The Role

  • Undertake mental health triage assessment over the phone and refers individuals to appropriate mental health services Statewide or to other appropriate service providers.
  • Provide mental health information to callers of the Helpline, including consumers, carers and health professionals seeking advice and information, including details of alternative treatment and support services.
  • Document referrals appropriately using electronic patient information systems and maintain a high level of customer service including timely response to incoming call.
  • Work collaboratively with community mental health services and other service providers to ensure effective service provision to individuals.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 18 September 2026

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: 

Salary $109,767 - $115,813 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification  relevant to the role
  • Current Driver’s Licence

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
