The Role

• Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists in the preparation of the procedure rooms for each procedure, ensuring the relevant equipment is at hand and have been checked in accordance with established guidelines and manufacturer’s specifications for cleanliness and serviceability.
• Responsible for providing basic technical assistance and support to nursing and medical staff with the correct and safe use of mechanical, surgical and electronic visual equipment.
• Provide assistance to Medical and Nursing staff in the dignified and safe lifting and positioning of patients within the Endoscopy suite, Radiology screening room, and recovery room, utilising specialist lifting, and positioning equipment and attachments as needed.
• Assist with the transfer of patients within the Day Procedure Unit, including discharge transport of patients to the hospital front door and the collection of patient’s belongings from lockers when necessary.
• Works within a friendly, supportive, and highly skilled team committed to delivering safe and compassionate patient care.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 2 Jan 2027.

Classification 

• Operational Health Officer Level 3

Salary

$70,033 - $75,114 per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025

Eligibility

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

• Holds or is working towards a Certificate III or IV “Theatre Technician Practice” qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an attendant in procedure areas.

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
