The Role:

• Lead the delivery of high-level advice and legal policy guidance to senior executives, supporting decision-making across complex contractual, legislative and governance matters.
• Lead specialist services for complex contracts, procurement, and insurance matters including the drafting and review of contract material and representing the Department in high level negotiations.  
• Lead and develop a high-performing legal team underpinned by the Department's CARE values, building effective stakeholder relationships across government, and driving continuous improvement in legal services, governance and risk management practices.
• Support the Department’s legislative program and review projects, including the preparation and coordination of Cabinet submissions, parliamentary documentation and drafting instructions.

Details of Appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 30 July 2027.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant. 

Salary:

$144,169 - $153,844 per annum + 12% superannuation

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
