The Role

  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and patient-ready environment by ensuring high standards of cleanliness, preparing beds and equipment for admissions, supporting discharge and terminal cleans, and assisting with waste management and infection prevention practices.
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of Ward 5D (General medical, Haematology and Oncology) through stock management, ordering supplies and linen, maintaining treatment, equipment and utility areas and transporting specimens, blood products, prescriptions and other essential items.
  • Contribute to quality patient care and ward operations by identifying and reporting hazards or equipment issues, participating in quality and safety initiatives, and supporting the orientation and training of new Hospital Aides within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 20 October 2026. 

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification

Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award, General Stream, Operational Health Officer, Level 1

Salary

$59,668 - $65,185 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
