About The Role

Reporting to the Manager Service Programs, we have a 12-month opportunity until 14^th September 2027 for an experienced Senior Service Planner to join the Water Harvest & Transfer team.

In this role, you will lead the planning and development across the Water Harvest & Transfer Service Portfolio, ensuring Melbourne Water has an optimised, fit-for-purpose suite of programs that supports the effective delivery of defined services and service objectives.

Working collaboratively across the business, you will provide technical expertise and strategic insight to support investment planning, asset management, risk management and program performance across the water portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

• Provide technical expertise and judgement to support the prioritisation of capital, non-asset and maintenance investment programs across the Service Portfolio.
• Translate Service Master Plans into investment plans at a system and major asset level.
• Develop and maintain Asset Management Plans across the portfolio.
• Develop investment programs and supporting Business Cases for price submissions and throughout price periods.
• Establish program performance objectives and collaborate across the business to monitor, assess and respond to performance.
• Support the review and management of service risk profiles across asset portfolios, enabling transparent reporting and evidence-based investment decisions.
• Act as a subject matter expert for the Service Portfolio, including contributing to risk assessments and investment planning activities.
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Apply relevant asset management processes and procedures while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and customer-focused team culture.

About You

You will bring:

• Tertiary degree in relevant engineering or discipline field (e.g. process or mechanical) or experience in relatable area.
• Experience and knowledge of Water Transfer Networks or Dam/Headworks infrastructure
• Experience and knowledge of service planning processes and/or asset management and planning, risk assessment and management techniques, and project and program
• Demonstrated capability to practically evaluate options and proposals
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to self-prioritise and perform complex professional/technical work with limited supervision and exercise professional/technical judgement.
• Strong financial acumen in the context of complex, large-scale infrastructure
• Proven history of working as a collaborative team member and working in a constructive culture to achieve customer centric outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills together with excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to influence decision making and provide guidance.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to self-prioritise and perform complex professional/technical work under limited supervision.
• Engineering registration (preferred)
• Victorian Driver’s Licence
• The completion of a successful Medical Assessment required during pre-employment checks stage
