About the role

The role Manager Construction is responsible to direct, monitor and control the construction activities of a project in order to ensure that it is completed on time and to the total satisfaction of the client whilst achieving tender profit margins and meeting the safety and quality expectations of the company.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and monitor the works through a detailed level III programme and accurately record actual  progress against the critical path activities to ensure that programme and reported progress position are consistently accurate.
  • Direct, control and monitor the implementation of management strategy in the construction activities in order to optimises company’s position on the project within the terms of the contract.
  • Control, monitor and liase with the financial management of the project to ensure targeted profitability is achieved and potential for profitability is maximised.
  • Lead, manage and coordinate Construction Engineers and Superintendents in control of all labour and plant resources in order to achieve the construction schedule and the prject safety and quality requirements on the site.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with the client to ensure that the project is undertaken in a cooperative manner.
  • Develop; support and liase with Project Control team with the project programming, weekly progress assessment and reporting function to ensure all report and assessment are accurate in timely manner.
  • Ensure the correctness of data and its inclusion into the weekly and monthly progress reports and other documents for complete monthly reports.
  • Evaluate daily and weekly progress number, actual cost vs. forecast cost and determining where improvements could be made.
  • Maintain through records both technical and financial at all times.
  • Manage the setting up with TCI of a facilities management company on each of the road projects.
  • Establish and lead the achievements of the set of Project KPIs.
  • Maintain through understanding of design and construction issues impacting the project completion schedule.
  • Understand the impact of any changes of law in Indonesia that would impact the project during construction.

About you

  • Graduated from Bachelor or Magister Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as in construction industry, or 8 years’ experience as manager.
  • Extensive experience in Project Management, client orientation, major project. Experience of whole life costing, facilities management and long term planning.
