Thiess is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Excavator Fitters at our Peak Downs Project near Moranbah in the Bowen Basin.

Our team deliver mining excellence at Peak Downs with uncompromising safety and environmental standards. We’re looking forward to continuing our long-term relationship with BMA during our new 5-year contracts effective 2022. 

About the role

This position is a permanent roll with Thiess. The successful applicants will join a passionate and energetic team where they will be responsible for providing technical knowledge, support, and assistance to Thiess’ maintenance operations. The role will also provide an opportunity to expand your maintenance technical skills and become a leader in the mechanical field.

Requirements

• Heavy diesel fitting trade
• 3 years post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry, or on large hydraulic excavators.
• Experience with Liebherr and Hitachi Excavators preferable
• Experience in general maintenance, servicing, component change outs and breakdowns and servicing of heavy mining equipment
• Current Standard 11 
• Current drivers’ licence
• Relevant coal mining certifications
• A commitment to a positive safety culture,

• Be highly motivated and committed to deliver quality results. 
• Have a good work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement, be able to work as an individual within the maintenance team, be able to think ahead & lead with initiative.
