About the role

As our next Diesel Fitter reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

Thiess Rehabilitation is currently seeking experienced fitters for an opportunity at Ensham mine which is located 40km east of Emerald. Thiess Rehabilitation is committed to delivering mine rehabilitation services at Ensham over a 3.5 year term, and are looking for people to be part of this exciting project.

  • Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System.
  • Be highly motivated and committed to deliver quality results.
  • Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance of the fleet in the workshop and in the field.
  • Maintain fleets of Cat D10T/ D11T/D11 Dozers, Cat 16M Grader, Cat 777dump trucks, and Komatsu PC1250 excavator
  • Follow work instructions and complete all paperwork to a high standard.
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are always maintained ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Have a good work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement, be able to work as an individual within the maintenance team.
  • Commitment to Risk Management and Safe Work.

 Roster & Conditions

  • 7 on 7 off rotating shift roster
  • 12.5-hour day & night shift
  • Permanent workshop facilities

Our requirements

To be successful in this role you are required to have:

  • Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or relevant equivalent
  • Post-trade experience working in the Mining, Civil or Heavy earth moving industry
  • Experience in General Maintenance, Breakdowns, Component Change Outs and Servicing of Heavy Earth Moving Equipment
  • Demonstrated experience Cat and/or Komatsu HME
