We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Leading Hand to join our Maintenance team at QCoal Northern Hub Coal Project - Sonoma Mine, located 10km south of Collinsville in the Bowen Basin. As our next Maintenance Leading Hand, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Leading your crew and ensuring everyone works safely and efficiently

  • Performing servicing, repairs and maintenance in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication and maintenance systems documentation

  • Sourcing technical information including, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems, be able to read and understand schematics – electrical and hydraulic

  • Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times 

  • Undertaking quality work 

  • Stepping-up and coverage for the Maintenance Supervisor in their absence

  • Maintaining radio communications for shift activities

  • Managing parts requirements for work

  • Warehouse control on night shift

ABOUT YOU 

To be considered for this role you are required to have: 

  • Relevant trade qualifications 

  • Experience working as a leading hand in the maintenance field on an operational mine 

  • Post-trade operational mine site experience 

  • Experience in general service, maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs and proper diagnostics 

  • Computer system JDE 

  • Oil analysis and interpretation. 

  • OEM computer based systems 

  • Experience with CAT, Komatsu and Hitachi Heavy Earth Moving Equipment 

  • A commitment to a positive safety culture
