About the role

As our next Field Maintenance Leading Hand specialising in Excavators reporting to the Field Maintenance Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

The Lake Vermont Coal Project is situated in Dysart, North Queensland.

  • Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System.
  • Be highly motivated and committed to deliver quality results.
  • Perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance of the fleet in the field.
  • Maintain fleets of Liebherr R9150/R9400/R996/R9600/R9800 Excavators, Komatsu PC360/PC490 Excavators, Sandvik DR460/412i, and Epiroc PV275 Drills.
  • Follow work instructions and complete all paperwork to a high standard.
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are always maintained ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Have a good work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement, be able to work as an individual within the maintenance team, be able to think ahead & lead with initiative.
  • Commitment to Risk Management and Safe Work.

Roster and Conditions

  • 7 on 7 off rotating shift roster
  • 12.5-hour day & night shift
  • Charter Flights Brisbane - employees need to permanently live within 200km of the Brisbane CBD
  • BIBO from Mackay, Rockhampton & Yeppoon

About you

  • To be successful in this role you are required to have:

    • Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or relevant equivalent
    • Post-trade experience working in the Mining or Heavy Earth Moving industry.
    • Specialist Fitter with Excavators, Liebherr equipment experience is highly regarded.
    • Experience in General Maintenance, Breakdowns, Component Change Outs and Servicing of Heavy Earth Moving Equipment
    • Demonstrated experience Cat, Komatsu and/or Liebherr HME
