The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Ancillary Equipment Fitter to join the Thiess maintenance crew at Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex. 

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-East of Moranbah which commenced mining operations mid-2023. Thiess has recently been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure.

About The Role

  • Maintain Ancillary mobile plant equipment together with equipment used for Blasting such as MPU’s, Stemming Trucks and Product Augers safely and efficiently in line with Thiess and industry standards
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault finding on hydraulic systems, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times

About you 

As a successful applicant, you’ll be a high-achieving safety-focused individual who enjoys delivering results in a dynamic environment. Your attention to detail coupled with your commitment to delivering high-quality work will also ensure your success in this role. The ideal candidate will hold:

  • Mechanical trade qualification (required)
  • Prior experience with diagnostics and fault-finding skills on hydraulic systems
  • On highway truck experience (desired)
  • Demonstrated experience working on Blast equipment including MPU’s, dewatering pumps & medium vehicles
  • Current Standard 11
  • Driver’s Licence preferable
  • Undergo & pass a Queensland Explosives Security Clearance
  • Police clearance
