About The Role 

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor to provide advice, administrative coordination and operational support to the project and wider HR team at Pembroke Resource’s project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex. This role has the flexibility to be either FIFO from Brisbane, or DIDO for anyone living locally.

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.

Working a site based, 5/2, 4/3 roster and reporting to the project HR Manager, your duties will include:   

  • Support the delivery of all aspects of the HR plan for the project
  • Partner with key stakeholder groups to manage employee absenteeism, performance and misconduct matters
  • Provide advice and support on policies and procedures, systems, reporting, recruitment, industrial relations, disputes and dismissals
  • Be involved in initiatives to enhance workplace culture and branding
  • Support the site diversity and inclusion initiatives

About You

This role is for someone who has the skills to influence at all levels, and the ability to promote and uphold HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources or a related field
  • Human resources experience in a mining, manufacturing or heavy industry (Desirable)
  • Proven years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Strong computer skills including an advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office package
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to build strong professional relationships quickly, and use influence positively
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
