About The Role 

As the Senior Engineer, Asset Decarbonisation, you will play a pivotal role in building Thiess' internal sustainable mining capabilities and driving the successful implementation of our decarbonisation technology initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, project stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the seamless integration of decarbonisation technologies into our mining operations.

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Lead the coordination of efforts across teams and stakeholders to achieve sustainable results.
  • Champion change initiatives across the business and promote a culture that aligns with Thiess' principles.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive the development and implementation of operational risk assessments and governance documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in decarbonisation technologies and bring innovative ideas to support strategic growth.

About You  

The ideal candidate should possess an engineering degree or equivalent qualifications/experience, coupled with a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in a pertinent engineering capacity.

Notably, the candidate should have a proven track record in working with decarbonisation technologies, mining equipment, and adeptness in systems thinking.

A robust grasp of commercial intricacies, coupled with exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, is essential.

Furthermore, excellent communication prowess and a demonstrated ability to foster seamless collaboration within a team are prerequisites for success in this role.

A deep commitment to safety and promoting a strong safety culture is also essential for success in this role.
