About The Role
As the Lead, you will play a key part in positioning Thiess as an employer of choice and ensuring a smooth, enriching transition for emerging talent into the workforce.
You will lead a small team and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Talent Acquisition, HR, and project teams, to deliver exceptional talent experiences. Your focus will be on optimising the end-to-end talent journey – from recruitment through to onboarding and professional development – while also driving program improvements and managing budgets effectively.
- Manage and deliver Graduate, Apprentice, Scholarship, and Vacation Student programs, ensuring a seamless selection, induction, and onboarding experience that fosters professional growth.
- Use market insights, competitor analysis, and stakeholder feedback to continuously enhance the Future Talent offerings and improve the talent journey across recruitment, onboarding, and development stages.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Talent Acquisition, HR, Project Teams) and external partners (universities, third-party providers) to build and sustain impactful talent programs.
- Oversee budgets for all Future Talent Programs, ensuring financial resources are optimally aligned and reported accurately.
- Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for each program to ensure success and support data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrate and promote a safety-first culture within Future Talent programs and ensure alignment with Thiess’ health, safety, and operational standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or higher qualifications in fields such as Human Resources, Talent Management, or Organisational Psychology. Proven experience in managing Future Talent programs is essential, along with a solid understanding of HR processes, recruitment, and the ability to optimise talent management initiatives. Additionally, the role requires a strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and HR guidelines to ensure compliance and best practice in all aspects of talent management.
This role requires occasional travel to Thiess project sites across Australia East, providing the opportunity to engage directly with various teams and stakeholders on the ground. The successful candidate will also need strong influencing skills to drive continuous improvement within the Future Talent programs, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and fostering a culture of growth and development for emerging talent.
