About the role

Mount Pleasant Operation located in the Hunter Valley Region, NSW is looking for an experienced Training Co-ordinator to join the Health Safety & Training Team

As the Training Coordinator reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you will lead the training team to deliver best practice training and education programs, focused on compliance and safe operational efficiencies to best support our site. 

Some key responsibilities will include: 

  • Working closely with operational leads to ensure training programs are scheduled, delivered, and align with the needs of the organisation
  • Ensure implementation of site training programs and systems to maintain compliance with our health and safety management system as well as legislative requirements
  • Monitor, analyse and report project performance in terms of achieving training deliverables
  • Coordinate, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs
  • Development and review of learning and assessment material
  • Delivery of in-class learning and assessment
  • Maintaining the site training needs analysis (TNA) to identify gaps between current skill, competency levels and required skill levels in consultation with key stakeholders 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site skills matrix and training plans with a focus on proficiency-based training outcomes 
  • Preparation and participation of material for annual audit schedule
  • Oversee adequate resourcing and development Trainers and Assessors to support mining and maintenance/HRWL
  • Roster is 5 days on 2 days off with a monthly RDO - permanent fulltime. 

About you

  • TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 
  • G1, G2, G8 and G9 (formerly S1 S2 S3) Qualification 
  • Proven capability to lead and develop a high performing team
  • Experience in managing a project-based training needs analysis, skills matrix and training plans 
  • Strong administrative skills and experience in online training systems (high level of computer literacy)
  • Ability to develop and map training packages to recognised competencies  
  • Experience with heavy earthmoving equipment and/or a Mining Maintenance background will be an advantage
