About The Role
Are you a dynamic HR leader looking to make a real impact?
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join the team at our Lake Vermont project, located in Dysart. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role is integral in shaping a high-performance culture, driving workforce strategies, and fostering employee engagement.
As a true HR generalist, you will oversee performance and talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, diversity & inclusion, people analytics, while also supporting local community initiatives. A key focus of this role is building a culture where every contribution is valued and championing local employment opportunities.
The primary functions of this role will see you:
- Develop and execute HR strategies that align with business objectives and drive a high-performance, diverse and inclusive culture.
- Lead and manage employee relations, providing expert HR/ ER advice, building leadership capability and fostering a positive workplace environment.
- Champion cultural alignment and engagement, working closely with leaders to develop capability and embed company values.
- Build leadership capability through coaching and development
- Implement workforce engagement and planning initiative to enhance attendance, attraction and retention.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, building a high performing HR function.
- Oversee and optimise HR operational processes, ensuring efficient execution while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and standardisation.
About you
To be considered for this role you are required to have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management
- Proven experience in HR leadership within fast-paced environments
- Previous experience in mining, resources, or heavy industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- High attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong proficiency in HR systems
What Thiess can do for you
- Permanent full-time position working a 9 day fortnight (5/2, 4/3 roster) or the flexibility to work a 5/2 roster week on & week off from our Brisbane Head office & the project
