About the role
Thiess is currently seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join our Olive Downs Complex in the Bowen Basin.
Working a 8/6 roster, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of health and safety procedures, including but not limited to facilitating risk assessments
- Ensuring compliance with the Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme
- Managing incident reporting and investigation processes
- Compiling and analysing safety data for monthly reports
- Support on site injury management and return to work requirements
- Performing other duties as directed by the HS&T Manager
About You
- Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety, or relevant to related field and/or willing to obtain
- Previous experience as a Health, Safety, and Training Officer within resources, construction, or a similar industry would be advantageous
- High level of organizational and time management skills
- Motivated and committed to meeting deadlines and achieving results
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, busy work environment
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially strong Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
