The Opportunity

As our Light Vehicle Supervisor, you will lead a collaborative team of operators to maintain safe, productive and cohesive workings.  Drawing on your extensive expertise, you will provide strategic advice, develop and improve your team, and provide necessary operational support to achieve health and safety excellence across our workplaces.

 This position is based at Iron Bridge, located 145km from Port Hedland on an 8/6, 7/7 roster FIFO from Perth.

About the role

  • Co-ordinate leading hands and maintenance crews to manage all Light Vehicles and support equipment on site, during shift.
  • Provide leadership and direction to all Light Vehicle maintenance personnel including subcontractors.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken is in accordance with direction from the Maintenance Light Vehicle Superintendent and the Project SMP/EMP, OEM and SOPs.
  • Ensure that all equipment fleets achieves maximum availability for minimal cost.
  • Identify resource and skill gaps for team members and develop strategies to close gaps.
  • Mentor, coach and roll out training and development plans.

Skills and experience required

  • Trade Certificate in Automotive Mechanical
  • 5+ years post trade experience 
  • Promoting a culture to ensure full compliance with all applicable Thiess safety standards & procedures
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Able to act as a strong and positive example to the workforce.
  • Mature and professional approach to all matters.
  • Current driver's licence.
