About The Role
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Superintendents to join the Yilgarn Iron Ore Project which includes the sites of Koolyanobbing, Windarling and Parker Range. The Yilgarn region has a long history of iron ore mining and is located in the Shires or Yilgarn and Menzies with ore being railed to Esperance Port for export. The productive mining areas are located on the land of the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Group. Koolyanobbing is in the Shire of Yilgarn, Western Australia, 54 km north-northeast of the town of Southern Cross.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will have demonstrable recent experience in managing the safe and efficient operation of track mounted crushers and screens on top tier client sites. Located nearby Southern Cross, these roles are offered on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO roster from surrounding towns.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure crushing targets and KPI’s in accordance with the Client contract terms and MACA safety
- systems
- Communicate daily objectives with crushing, maintenance, and contracting personnel.
- Ensure all control conditions are set and production levels maintained in accordance with agreed
- production directives
- Implement, maintain, and manage systematic routine maintenance and schedule a preventative maintenance program in liaison with the Maintenance Superintendent
- Monitor wear parts life (crusher and screen consumables) and report costs to the Project Manager monthly and in accordance with the contract
- Monitor Crushing equipment condition to ensure that plant is mechanically sound for an efficient and safe operation
- Assessment, ordering and monitoring of crusher parts and consumables
- Report all faults and defects of plant promptly and without delay
- Authorise all Crushing personnel timesheets ensuring correct hours are listed
- Assist in the training and learning regime of all MACA trainees, employees and sub-contractors and identify suitable development opportunities
- Performance manage personnel and provide constructive criticism to ensure the tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure performance reviews are conducted annually, constructive feedback is provided to all employees and career paths and development plans are identified
- Ensure JSA’s are reviewed prior to the commencement of shift where controls are in place, employees are appropriately trained for the task and are the actions signed off
- Personally, inspect and monitor high risk activities and ensure effective controls are in place
- Report all incidents and accidents to the Project Manager Incident & hazard reporting – conduct investigations when and if required
- Stock control of all materials and consumables.
About You
- Section 26 training.
- 5 years’ experience in previous Crushing Leadership roles.
- Frontline management certificate.
- Current clean driver licence.
- Sound knowledge of safety systems.
- Able to lead a team safely, effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to meet required KPI's.
- Assist in shutdown preparations.
- Able to troubleshoot faults.
- Mentoring and coaching skills.
- Good planning & time management skills.
- Highly motivated and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have a “Can Do” attitude to safety and align to MACA company values.
